Life: Words of Wisdom from Arthur Ashe When He Was Dying

I wish to share this with everyone and we should take his words seriously and be grateful, contended and happy with what we got. Never take things for granted as our life is too short to complain about and live it to the fullest while we still are still breathing. This guy is a hero, man. He will always be remembered, his words will not be forgotten and his legacy will live on forever.

Let me present, the legendary, Arrrrthuuuuurrrrrrrrrr Assssshhhheeee....professional tennis player who managed to grabbed Grand Slam titles but died due to HIV.

ONE PARAGRAPH THAT EXPLAINS LIFE!

Arthur Ashe, the legendary Wimbledon player was dying of AIDS which he got due to infected blood he received during a heart surgery in 1983. From world over, he received letters from his fans, one of which conveyed: 'Why does GOD have to select you for such a bad disease'?

To this Arthur Ashe replied:
'The world over -- 50 million children start playing tennis, 5 million learn to play tennis, 500,000 learn professional tennis, 50,000 come to the circuit, 5000 reach the grand slam, 50 reach Wimbledon, 4 to semi final, 2 to the finals, when I was holding a cup I never asked GOD 'Why me?'.
And today in pain I should not be asking GOD 'Why me?'

Happiness keeps you sweet
Trials keep you strong
Sorrow keeps you human
Failure keeps you humble

and

Success keeps you glowing, but only faith & attitude keeps you going...

Gathering: At Batu Keras Hotel aka Hard Rock Hotel, Penang

Now I can tell aloud that I HAVE FINALLY FREAKING STEP MY FOOT IN HARD ROCK HOTEL after sometimes. So people, please do not ask me again "HAVE YOU BEEN TO HARD ROCK HOTEL ALREADY?". I mean...how am I going to answer that when I am staying in Penang but haven't been there before. The feeling is just like when people ask you "Have you seen Avatar?" and you will be like rolling your eyes and *gasp* saying "Erm...why would I watch? Nice, meh? So many blue people one and some more the movie is so long".

Alright, alright. Leave bullshits aside and let's get into serious business here. LOL. My bestie, Sam planned to show us Hard Rock Hotel (since we are "sua pa kau"....never been before) as well as celebrating another bestie of mine birthday. Yeah...both things come concurrently. Oh before that, I wanna wish a sincere Happy Birthday to Chean Yen here since I have nothing to offer. Sorry, mate. Will give you a piece of banana cake when I see you again. LOL. May you have a wonderful and roaring Tiger Year ahead. Hehe.

So our two gentlemen Mr Thien Sing is our official driver for the night and oh also not forgetting...Mr Ethan Hunter/Dinesh/etc (too many to be named here...hahahaha) is Thien Sing's counterpart offering the same service. LOL. Time to dolly up myself coz it's partayyyy time. Yeah....Saturday Night = Party Night.

Beauty check no. 1: Pick but in my occasion I dig the right dress for the party.
Beauty check no. 2: Select the matching shoes to glam up your looks.

Beauty check no. 3: Enhance your looks with make-ups and please remember to apply moisturizer to keep your face staying hydrated.

Beauty check no. 4: Pose before the mirror and take some candid pictures of yourself. *optional* LOL

Please ignore the ceiling fan. It is not supposed to be there. Hahahahaah....

Viola.....all check? Your hair is in place, your dress is matching with your shoes, make sure you make-up is not smeared, everything's perfect, then you're good to go.

At Hard Rock Hotel (ladies), we.........

DID this

DID that (the Bday girl is being sandwiched by both of us)

And we went to the so-called pub or bistro and spent a large amount of money on the liquor! Man, it's RM370+. Thank God there were 6 of us or else it gonna burn a meteor hole in my pocket!

Bacardi Lemon.....sweet and nice. Taste better than Martel and Chivas any day.

  Soft drink Sprite

Drunk or not drunk? Sleeping or awake?

I was half-drunk when this picture was taken but thank goodness that I am still conscious until I reached home.

Okay...I know. I picked the wrong dress and it makes me looked fat and ugly. LOL.

Okay...what I loved about the place is the live band which they belt out retro hits and mostly sentimental songs. At one glance, you can see the place is actually filled with Caucasians and foreigners. The ambience is nice and so does the settings. Maybe the next time you here, you can plan a trip to Hard Rock Hotel in Penang even though it is not a posh hotel but a room per night is not cheap as the price starts from RM500+++. Weee......my mama always said "Staying at home is the cheapest". Hahahhaa......

Life: I Am Second Class Upper? Damn....If Only That Were First Class Honour.

What can I say? Yooo hooooo.....I will be graduating soon. My convocation will be held on the end of March and I am inviting everyone to come. Please RSVP before end of February so that I can arrange YOUR transport to ferry you to MY university without YOU forking out a single money. Spacious, environmental friendly, cosy, sleek, not-so big, and comfortable are the keywords perfectly used to describe the car. Your idea of free transport will be .....TADA......

So, have you decided? LOL.......Okay...i know this is darn lame. Turn your face around and say "Ssssweat".

I think Motorola has to replace the optical mouse that I am currently using because it seems to not functioning correctly. I scroll upwards, it went downwards and vice versa happens when I clicked on the left side of the mouse. I absolutely have no idea what had I done to it for the past 6 weeks playing with it. Oh...I know! It's me. My heart in me keeps telling me to check the student list who is eligible to graduate today! After 9891829182010280820812810281092810 times clicking on the refresh button, finally it is updated. Phew!!!!! This "outrageous" act results in the Doomsday for the mouse. Sorry, mate. I will bury you on Monday when I am back in office. But for this present moment, please sleep soundly in the drawer ya. LOL.

See.....I am stupid , right? I only managed to secure a Second Upper degree even though I am just 0.07 point away from First Class. If only I had worked harder and play less. No no no.....it must be the wild monkeys from the forest that distract my attentions. Wait and see. I will shave you bald when I am back for my convocation.

You must be surprised to see the small number of graduates from my course, aye? Well....to explain further, we are not genius but ultra genius because we are graduating 6 months earlier than the rest of the comrades (kidding). LOL. No offence but the true reason is we carried forward our credit hours and equally allocate the time to every semester. Hence, the early graduation.

Hahahaha. Hey, whatcha waiting for? Faster congratulate me la. I have suffered for three years studying nonsense and playing with the forest wildlife and you still didn't want to congratulate me meh? And where is my flowers?

*wink, wink*

P/S: I'd like to extent my sincere "Congratulations" to Leong Pei Yee and Arul Jothi for making their way to the top of the list or better yet, the whole course. Muacks, gals! We are really proud of you. Since we're the pioneer in this course, you had made it!!! Congrats, again gals.

Life: Eligible Student Name List Will Be Out On 21st January!!!!???? The Website Reflects Something But Nothing

I am gonna stop refreshing on the site now for the 1237989187982392839283 times!!!! As if I am getting married, I am so excited this morning assuming I will be greeted by a good news this morning. But my brain stops releasing endorphine hormones to my body putting everything into a halt. Hell...they haven't even updated the site yet and oh no, it's 5.40 pm. The date to review the list is on 21st January, right? Am I right? Hope this is not a delusion.

*checking the calender*

Yes, it's 21st today and how come it did not appear yet? Or it is not January?

*checking the calender again for the second round*

Goodness gracious! My memory serves me right. I am living in the month of January but why the list is not up yet? Anyways, as disappointed as I am, I am not surprised. We, you and me know that most government servants practically are slow and lack of enthusiasm in delivering their work. They come to work at 8am, "loiter" in the office, cubicle visitings, telling the juiciest gossip, slacking their arshes off to resolve any surfacing issues, and yadda, yadda, yadda. So let's presume, the name list will be released on 21 January 2011! If they remember!!!

Travel: When Comes To Fortune Telling, Thailand Is Even More Fast Forward Than Us

Fortune telling in Malaysia is popular among Chinese folks in Malaysia and the number increased five-fold during Chinese New Year as it marks the beginning of a new year. Clients from all walks of life will visit the master to predict their future in investment, financial flow, love, marriage, studies, and so forth. Imagine if each client asks only one question and that only one question encompasses palm reading, face reading, tarot card reading and fortune sticks, ask yourself, when is gonna be your turn? Hence, the long waiting line at the booth.

But this worst case scenario has actually been foreseen and resolved by our strong Buddhist believers neighbour, Thailand. Want to know about your luck, love, career, and money? Easy peasy. Just a piece of cake they said. Insert one coin into the machine and "wheel of fortune" will start spinning til it gradually slower down and stop at your so-called lucky number. It will took about 15 seconds for the neon light  on the spinning wheel to stop at your lucky number. Along the process, the box will continuously recite mantra until it the running light stops. So what you gonna do when you have your number? Remember the number, obtain your future forecast results from a well-laminated book. Do not fret if you could not read Chinese or Thai language cause it comes in trilingual version. Whoa!!!!!

Each of the "box" is labelled according to the day initiated by Sunday and ended with Saturday.

My lucky number is 11 and the results? Sounds very favourable for me. LOL

Humour: Why Men Shouldn't Be An Advice Columnist

This really kick my funny bones the moment I read this from my best friend's e-mail. Ahhh....this is so darn right! But does not apply to all men. Geez....Well it is partly true and partly not true cause so men are really insensitive when it comes to women's needs, attentions, etc.....

Engrish: It's A Confusion When Siamese Said Babi Rather Than Baby

I was walking along the market in Hatyai on New Year day and I stumbled upon this! Whoa...Siamese are so fast forward in food technology that they packed pork in a bottle? And the flavour is mild? LOL. It is supposed to mean baby as you read it many times and you will get the real pronunciation. And hell yeah...it costs at around RM8.90 only.

SO, BABI MILD POWDER, anyone? It's mild and gentle to your skin and what's great. It's for BABI!!!! LOL LOL LOL

I Admit. Paranormal Activity Sucks Big Time

I had have always embrace this mindset that horror flick comes in footages will scare the bejesus out of me. So I took the risk and set the highest expectation in the so-called horror movie, Paranormal Activity. Today is a long Saturday that I took some time off to go check this movie out and to my disappointment, this movie was a piece of junk. You know why I said junk? I practically feel nausea and vomited many times in the ladies.

The whole episodes were shaky, the camera is whirling, swinging just like the merry-go-round you ride when you were a toddler. I believe carousel wasn't that bad as well. But this.....I cannot even tilt my head up longer to watch the movie as the entire scenes were shaky. I buried my face into my plush bag many times as I could not bear to carry on watching the show til the end. I was thinking to leave the movie but it costs me RM10 for this piece of sheesh. First and the last time I am gonna watch so-called footage movie. Never....never ever!!!!

Even audience who were sitting next to me also were complaining "pening" many times and my friend has actually vomited on the cinema's carpet! Sorry, her bad but the movie is worst! But somehow I salute those who can sit in their couch watching and enjoying the movie like nothing affected them. Great!

Any horror-flick fans out there, you so not gonna watch this! Damn....I just purge everything out from my stomach! In a nutshell, it isn't that scary. Just a decent horror flick with low budget production.

Sorry for the Long Hiatus

I realised, I believed and I thought that I have not written anything here anymore for about two weeks. Reasons...simple. I have been away from internet connection for sometime. Last week, I was in Hatyai, Thailand acting like some Buddha devotee kneeling and praying before him. Don't judge me! I did not request for 4D numbers but hell yeah, I did wish for something. Shhh....that's a secret! The place was so jam-packed with people from all walks of life. You can see Indians, Siamese, Chinese etc streaming the place and covered it with thick smoke and ashes. Gawd! My eyes, my eyes.

Another reason I am away for so long is......simple. I am lazy. I do not know what makes me lose the enthusiasm to scribble my thoughts of life here after I came back from Hatyai. That's not what I wish for! I need to balance my equilibrium between me-time and blogging time. Practically I have spent too much time on shopping and counting money. Every penny I spent is the hard-earned money I threw. Phew!!!! I missed the life when I was a student where I can buy things without even thinking so much about other commitments. Now...I have to pay my room rent, fuel consumption, car maintenance, food and beverages, a little on entertaiment, and clothes. Seriously, earning RM2k ++ a month is barely enough to survive unless you are spending prudently. Hell yeah. I am spending prudently cause I do not splurge on things I like like Paris Hilton.

Haunted by financial woes,
My best friend stop me from buying excessive shoes,
But I told her the importance of shoes,
Which will bring you to important places like zoo and loo,
Because we need to let off steam after working like a "gu",
And release stress every Monday safter inging Negaraku.
