In-bound Travel: Ostrich Farm in Perlis

1st and 2nd of May are the time where most in-bound holidaymakers plan their trip in conjunction with Labour Day. This does not exclude my parents as well. My dad has already booked a trip to Bangkok on these few days to visit numerous infamous temples seeing himself as a strong Buddhist believer. The religious place intended for devotees to worship Gods has immediately been transformed to refugee camps during the fierce flare-up between the government and protesters in the effort to overthrow the government. So my dad changes his plan and we set off to Padangbesa, which is located some 5km away from Malaysia's well-known bazaar, Padang Besar.

Just before 30 minutes reaching the Thai border, we manage to pause a middle-sized enclosed field where the big birds are set to roam freely. We manage to have a close-up with the ostriches and they are harmless and friendly.

A gentle reminder - you might wanna keep your head distance away from the perimeters if you do not want your head to be pecked by those large birds. The admission is free, no souvenir shops are present but only a small round stone table is seen covered with bunches of leaves which serve as food for the ostriches. 1kg of the leaves only costs RM1 and it is hell of too much to feed a dozen of famished ostriches.

My sister has to hold tightly on the leaf stem as the ostrich chowing down the leaves and juices greedily without noticing he is the only bird there. LOL.

These ostriches are eyeballing me and demanding for food. Look at those pitiful eyes. They had too much leaves for the day! Many visitors were seen giving away food for them for the past 30 minutes!!!

A female ostrich usually has gray-colored feather coat and the male has black feathers. In those days, ostriches leg tendons are used in surgery to replace damaged and worn off human tendons and their eyes were extensively for experiments and research. Just so you know, an ostrich egg can weigh about 3 pounds. That’s equivalent to 2 dozen chicken eggs. Frankly, with the cute faces of these giant birds, I pledge that I will not eat ostrich meat and egg and never touch stuffs which are made from their body parts - that's including their feathers.

Travel: When Comes To Fortune Telling, Thailand Is Even More Fast Forward Than Us

Fortune telling in Malaysia is popular among Chinese folks in Malaysia and the number increased five-fold during Chinese New Year as it marks the beginning of a new year. Clients from all walks of life will visit the master to predict their future in investment, financial flow, love, marriage, studies, and so forth. Imagine if each client asks only one question and that only one question encompasses palm reading, face reading, tarot card reading and fortune sticks, ask yourself, when is gonna be your turn? Hence, the long waiting line at the booth.

But this worst case scenario has actually been foreseen and resolved by our strong Buddhist believers neighbour, Thailand. Want to know about your luck, love, career, and money? Easy peasy. Just a piece of cake they said. Insert one coin into the machine and "wheel of fortune" will start spinning til it gradually slower down and stop at your so-called lucky number. It will took about 15 seconds for the neon light  on the spinning wheel to stop at your lucky number. Along the process, the box will continuously recite mantra until it the running light stops. So what you gonna do when you have your number? Remember the number, obtain your future forecast results from a well-laminated book. Do not fret if you could not read Chinese or Thai language cause it comes in trilingual version. Whoa!!!!!

Each of the "box" is labelled according to the day initiated by Sunday and ended with Saturday.

My lucky number is 11 and the results? Sounds very favourable for me. LOL

Engrish: It's A Confusion When Siamese Said Babi Rather Than Baby

I was walking along the market in Hatyai on New Year day and I stumbled upon this! Whoa...Siamese are so fast forward in food technology that they packed pork in a bottle? And the flavour is mild? LOL. It is supposed to mean baby as you read it many times and you will get the real pronunciation. And hell yeah...it costs at around RM8.90 only.

SO, BABI MILD POWDER, anyone? It's mild and gentle to your skin and what's great. It's for BABI!!!! LOL LOL LOL

Our 7-Eleven Inferiors To Theirs

When the last time I heard 7-Eleven (7-E) will be opening soon in front of my house, I was so excited (I was a little girl, ma) because I can secretly buy all the knick knack without my parents  concern. Finally the store is opened and starts operating 24 hours daily. Each time after school, I marched down the road to stop by the store to get some sweets, chocolates, and junk foods for my lunch. LOL. No la. As tidbits when I am watching Barney and friends on the tube. All these are meant to hide in my secret hideout since my parents hate me chowing down on these unhealthy sneaks. And each time, I have hard time having to eat Twisties hidden in the drawer only with a small slit for my tiny fingers to go in. Very pain, ok.  But for the sake of my greedy mouth, I am fine with it. That was why you can see me sitting behind the desk "studying" be it day or night as if I am so hardworking. Hehe. Ever since 7-E has opened, my life has transformed into a better one and I am never bored when my parents were away for work everyday. 7-E was my best friend, amusement park, bookstore, and cafeteria then that the staffs will never failed to welcome me with red carpet at the same time everday, not. LOL. And again, I launched another secret hideout for my lovely new found companions, The Shin Chan comics and Galaxie magazines. I covered them with a stack of pajamas so that my parents couldn't find them because we are not allowed to read those comics at home. Sad enough, my best friends can only come out and play when my parents weren't at home. Hehe.

Without any shadow of doubts, I still consider 7-E is my best friend and convenient store to everybody until I went to Thailand, and I was astounded with variety of choices  they managed to pack into a small convenient store. Thank God they never had the same concept in Malaysia or else I will be declared bankrupt when I was only 14 years old. Haha

 7-Eleven in Thailand

This is not a record store. Still the same 7-Eleven

Looks like our local bookstore? Of course, not. Still in the same store.

Oh, come on. We only have these in hypermarkets. They must be joking.

Scanning through. Argh...not Starbucks or Coffee Bean? Right, this is 7-bucks coffee. LOL. By the way, I was reprimanded for taking photos in the store. Nice!

There were lots more that I didn't manage to show you here like the burger corner where you can make you own burgers, pick your own sizzling hot sausages from the oven, and select your own favourite flavour from the ice-cream maker. Gawd! Go in as a hungry ghost, come out as a tummy-filled soul. I feel a little intimated and inferior with our local convenient store which isn't much convenient at all if I were to make comparison here.

Are you itchy?

As funny as it's spelling error, did I tell you Bangkok mentions that Bangkokmention welcomes all uncles, ah bengs, ah kau, ah ngiau, ah seng, chiko pek, lelaki miang, and lelaki gatal to visit this very amazing 'mansion'? Okay wait.....this is a prostituition house at Dannok, Thai border. I was supposed to hunt for some food to fill my empty stomach and I took the wrong  turn into a small area surrounded by clusters of mentions..ooppps....i mean mansions.

So do not forget to pay this so-called man-si-yon a visit when your itch started to kick off. Hehe. I am always wondering if this is a mansion, how would the bungalow look like? Perhaps their version of bungalow is like this?

Okay...I am not trying to run them down with this is really hilarious. Now I am thinking I want to regard my house as a semi-detached as I am staying in an apartment only. Muahahhaa
